Our school, Paavai Vidyashram Nursery and Primary school at Annathanapatti Salem conducted a ‘Rhymes Competition’ for the children on 25/11/ 2017 (Saturday). Dr. C. Satish, Director Paavai Group of Schools honored the event with his presence. The event was attended by all the parents.The function started with a welcome address by Mrs. Sridevi Priya, nursery teacher. Senior nursery teachers of our main school at Namakkal Mrs. K.Sujatha and Mrs.P.Sridevi were invited as judges for the competition.The Tiny Tots of nursery enthralled the audience by their sweet voice and beautiful gestures. Children were decked up with the dresses and properties relevant to their rhymes. The children’s performance was highlighted through a PowerPoint presentation having a colorful display of their rhymes, relevant pictures along with their names and class. There was a tough competition between the children as every child performed very well.Our Director Dr. C. Satish gave his presidential address after the competition. In his speech he appreciated all the little children for their performance and thanked their parents for their contribution. He emphasized that parents and teachers should only encourage the children and not to compel them to achieve more. He showed a small video clipping of a small child being harassed by the parent for not identifying the numbers correctly. He stressed that a child blooms to his or her fullest capability only through love and motivation and not through force or punishment. All the parents appreciated his speech.The Prize winners and the participants of the rhymes competition were awarded trophies by our Director and Headmistress. The function ended with a photo session and vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.Srividhya, nursery teacher.All the children took part in the competition happily. Their parents appreciated the Headmistress and other staff for organizing such an event and expressed their desire to witness much more events like this.
